Alexander Comminos creates large-scale ceramic sculptures that emerge as organic, sensual expressions reflective of his creative philosophy. Comminos attended the Savannah College of Art and Design before transferring to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s Department of Ceramics, where he studied under Charles Jahn, Patricia Rieger and Xavier Toubes Vilarino. The artist earned his BFA from the school in May 2006, and he is currently working as an apprentice at Jun Kaneko Studio. Comminos has exhibited his sculptures and installations in both solo and group shows.
