For the past two and a half decades, Denver-based Bill Amundson has been working in the “Suburban Regionalist” mode, a style that captures and celebrates true America as opposed to the idealized versions typically portrayed in art. His work touches on contemporary American landscapes, including interstate highways, chain restaurants and retail franchises. The artist has exhibited widely across the U.S., and his work is in the permanent collection of the Denver Art Museum as well as in numerous private collections, with collectors including artist Red Grooms and musician Ringo Starr.
