Eddith Buis is best known for her public art initiatives, including 2001’s Jane Doe and last year’s Bench Marks projects. Buis taught in the Omaha Public Schools for 23 years, and has also taught at Metro Community College, University of Nebraska, Omaha and Joslyn Art Museum. Buis is a long-time member of the Omaha Commission for the Public Arts and the Nebraska Women’s Caucus for Ar6t. continues. The artist exhibits her throughout the region and also writes an art column for the Midtown Monitor.
