Jessica Dunne notices common places that – despite their public access - often have lonely airs: tollbooths, bridges, highway tunnels, empty, rain-slicked streets, exit ramps and brightly-lit intersections. In addition to receiving numerous awards from organizations such as the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, the Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation and the Pacific Art League, Dunne has been an Artist-in-Residence at the Ragdale Foundation, Yaddo and the Robert McNamara Foundation. She has also exhibited her work widely in solo and group shows at venues such as the Print Center (Philadelphia, PA), the Swope Gallery (Santa Monica, CA), the Frye Art Museum (Seattle, WA) and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
