Saul Becker negotiates among personal narratives, authorship, human experience and the possibilities of place. His paintings express the nuances of his experiences in the three-dimensional world and reflect his own keen interest in maps and the representation of statistical data. The artist received his BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax and an MFA from the Virginia Commonwealth University. He has shown his work in solo and group exhibitions, and he has received several grants, including the Artist Trust Gap Grant in 2002. He lives and works in New York City.
