Stephanie Dotson records her reactions to the world around her by creating a database of drawings and ornamental patterns, which she manipulates and collages through printmaking to yield new allegories for greater truth. She crosses traditional materials and techniques with digital media to create unexpected results, and her intricate collages explore and combine gallery installation, illustrative drawings and decorative patterning. The artist received her BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and her MFA from the University of Georgia in Athens. She has exhibited her work widely in solo and group exhibitions and has received numerous awards and honors.
