Steve Bauer utilizes a unique combination of materials to achieve his desired concept. His working techniques are largely self-taught, and Bauer has developed his own specific approaches for handling his materials. Says the artist: “My work deals with processes and how they evolve. There are three areas of evolving processes that concern me: molecular, cultural, and cognitive. I use mark-making, handmade paper, found objects and conceptual art to explore each of these evolving systems.” Bauer studied Art History and Psychology at Iowa State University.
