Artist and master printmaker Timothy Berry has been collaborating with some of America’s most distinguished artists for over a quarter of a century. After learning traditional etching techniques in Europe and establishing a successful career as an artist in his own right, Berry returned to the U.S. and eventually founded the Teaberry Press in San Francisco in 1977. Through Teaberry, Berry is noted for working with artists who are not traditionally printmakers, such as Christo, Claes Oldenburg, Peter Voulkos, Deborah Oropallo, Ed Paschke and William Wiley, among many others. And while the printmaker continues to focus on creating his own intaglio prints, his shared process with others has resulted in significant contributions to printmaking. In recognition of his work, the San Francisco Art Institute initiated the traveling retrospective The Intimate Collaboration: 25 Years of Teaberry Press in 2005.
