Alexa Horochowski

Raised in Patagonia, Alexa Horochowski immigrated with her family to the U.S. at the age of ten. She spent her formative years in a small Midwestern town before studying journalism and creative writing at the University of Missouri. Studies in photojournalism led to explorations in fine art photography, and in 1996 Horochowski completed an MFA degree in photography and printmaking from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Since then, her art practice has expanded to include sculpture, painting and video. She has exhibited internationally in solo and group shows, and her work has been reviewed in publications such as Sculpture Magazine and the New York Times. Horochowski is currently an associate professor of sculpture at St. Cloud State University, Saint Cloud, Minnesota.

~”[My time] was extremely productive. I was able to work on multiple large drawings and paintings simultaneously.”
