Charley Friedman uses installations, sculpture, performance and video to explore ironic perspectives of the human experience. A native of Lincoln, NE, Friedman resides in Brooklyn, N.Y. and received a BFA from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN and an MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts/Tufts University, Boston. In 2006, he received a grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation and also participated in the Bemis Center’s exhibition SIGNAL CHANNEL. This year, the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery presented his solo show The Anataomy of Charley Freidman, and he took part in Emergency Room, a group exhibition held at MOMAS’s PS1 in New York.
