Debbie Han explores issues of cultural identity and the conventional and often contradictory perceptions that permeate every level of society. In so doing, she challenges viewers to reevaluate stereotypes and reconsider what constitutes ideal beauty. Han received her BA from the University of California, Los Angeles and an MFA from the Pratt Institute. The artist has had both solo and group exhibitions at venues such as Arco (Madrid, Spain), Savina Museum (Seoul, Korea), Künstlerhaus Bethanien (Berlin, Germany) and Wada Fine Arts (Tokyo, Japan). Her work has been reviewed in publications such as Artplus, Boston Magazine and Asian Art News, and she is a 2007 grant recipient of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation.
