Ian Harvey received his BA from Wesleyan University and an MFA from Columbia University, School of the Arts. The artist has exhibited his work widely, including in a solo show at the Bemis Center in 2003, and he has received grants from organizations such as the Artist Resource Trust and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation. Harvey teaches painting and drawing at the California State University, Sacramento, CA. For Harvey, painting is a language of inquiry – a responsive and resilient vehicle with which to explore the evolving boundaries of experience in the present.
~”In my three months at the Bemis, I accomplished as much
as I would have in two years of my ‘normal’ life.”
