For three decades, conceptual photographer Misha Gordin has been producing surreal black-and-white silver gelatin photographs that are both mesmerizing and thought provoking. The artist has received numerous awards, such as the National Endowment for the Arts’ Visual Artist Grant and the Michigan Council for the Arts’ Creative Artist Grant. He has additionally exhibited in numerous solo exhibitions, including at the Bemis Center, the North Dakota Museum of Art, the Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego and the Detroit Institute of Art. His work is in the permanent collections of the National Museum of Modern Art in Kyoto, Japan, the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris, the International Museum of Photography in Rochester, NY and the Art Institute of Chicago.
