Painter Renee Hoover has always painted because it makes her happy. She often builds artwork from scratch, using wood embellished with acrylic paints to create beautiful frames, boxes as well as a host of other exquisite objects. It is a special bonus for her to be able to share her art with her husband, fellow painter Bill Hoover. The couple’s work is unique in the way that they are able to bring their two styles together. Bill works on the main body of a painting, and Renee paints the complex frames. Among Hoover’s influences include Omaha artists Dan Newberry, Jill Rizzo and Wanda Ewing as well as Jean Miro and Picasso and many nameless, faceless Mexican folk artists.
