Along with long-time collaborator and Luis Recoder, Sandra Gibson creates highly innovative and engaging light works. Although grounded in an understanding and application of “film,” she creates non-representational images on filmstrips that incorporate multiple projection and live performance. Gibson has shown her work internationally at venues such as the Whitney Museum of American Art (NYC), Collectif Jeune Cinema (Paris, France), International Film Festival Rotterdam (The Netherlands), Hartware Medien Kunst Verein (Dortmund, Germany), La Casa Encendida (Madrid, Spain), Dundee Contemporary Arts (Dundee, Scotland), and Youkobo Art Space (Tokyo, Japan).
