Virginia Folkestad is a Colorado installation artist/sculptor whose work is shown nationally and internationally at venues such as the Andy Warhol Museum in Medzilaborce, Slovakia. She earned her BFA from Metropolitan State College, Denver, CO and has twice received the Colorado Council on the Arts Artist’s Fellowship in Visual Arts as well as artist grants from the United States Department of State. Folkestad has additional training in blacksmithing from the Penland School of Crafts, NC and woodworking from Anderson Ranch, Snowmass, CO. The artist is currently on the Board of Directors for DAM Contemporaries, a support organization of the Denver Art Museum. She is represented in Colorado by Sandy Carson Gallery.
