Omaha-based artist Tim McEvoy deals with perception by placing everyday objects like telephones, hot dogs and house into different contexts. At first glance, his paintings are reminiscent of animation art, bright, cheerful colors and apparently benign subjects. But something sinister lurks just beneath the surface, something that inevitably comments on contemporary society satirizes consumer culture. In this regard, his work parodies the fear hidden in advertising. The artist has exhibited his work in several exhibitions and has participated in bemisUNDERGROUND events.
