Originally from Omaha, Craig Vollmer graduated from the University of Iowa in 1995 with a degree in Film Production. While working on a filmmaking career in Hollywood, he discovered the art of still photography and began applying many of the techniques and skills he learned in film school to his new medium. In 2005, the artist returned to Omaha and began to show the images he had been working on for a year and half, images that are haunting, illustrative and revelatory of the cultures he visited.
