Melinda Yale

Melinda Yale creates pseudo-figures that seem both familiar and strange, while her drawings and print installations provide viewers with a sense of entering an imagined alternate world. The artist’s projects include prints, drawings, books and installations. She received her BA in Studio Art from Carleton College in Minnesota and an MFA in printmaking and drawing from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2006. She has been a resident at the Lower Eastside Printshop, and the Anderson Ranch Art Center, and she has exhibited at Artists Space (NY, NY) and the International Print Center New York as well as internationally in China and France. Yale currently lives in Brooklyn, NY where she teaches part-time at CUNY-Queensborough.
